Located at Golden Triangle at Relau, YiTiaoFenChang (一条粉肠) is another outlet by Dim Do Duc (点都得点心) This shop is also known as Dim Do Duc Plus.
Dim Do Duc Plus serves Dim Sum in the morning. In the evening starting from 6pm to 10:30pm, they serve their unique version of “Fen Chang” (粉肠) or better known as Cheong Fun (rice noodle roll).
In conjunction with their grand opening, Dim Do Duc Plus is having a special promotion for their Breakfast Set at RM6.50 (except weekends) and Afternoon Dim Sum Promotion. Details are as below:
That’s not all. There will be a Dim Sum Buffet Session every Friday (RM19.90 per pax) where you can eat all you can from the selection starting from 11:30am – 1:30pm. This is a great news for those who love to savour varieties of dim sum.
Now back to their specialty “Fen Chang (粉肠)”. What makes it special is they only serve it during night time. There are not many places in Penang that serve this light and healthier dish for supper. Dim Do Duc Plus is one of the very few that serves it during night time.
The fen chang (粉肠) here is served in Cantonese style. The plain version of fen chang (正粉肠) without any add-on will be RM5.00. However the sauce, gravy and garnish are not chargeable.
For those who wish to add-on, there are more than 16 types of ingredients to choose from. You can mix and match any type of the ingredients depending on your choice. With 2 add-ons (topping) (有故事的粉肠) the price will be RM7.00. With 3 add-ons (topping) (有理想的粉肠) the price will be RM9.00.
With just RM1.00 you get an additional egg.
There are 16 types of add-ons available:
- Sweet corn
- Lettuce
- Mushroom
- Seaweed
- Spring onion
- Stock fish
- Crab meat
- Meat floss
- Squid
- Fish slices
- Pork slices
- Barbecue pork slices
- Dried shrimps
- Dried scallops
- Chicken slices
The making of fen chang is also an interesting process to watch. The mixture is poured to the hot iron tray before placing into the steamer. Within a few minutes, the fen chang is ready.
This is how it looks before the fen chang is added with sauce, gravy or garnish. This is the specialty of the fen chang here as you may add different toppings that give you different flavours. This is the first outlet in Penang that serves such unique fen chang.
Once added with the gravy and garnish, the taste will be so different. One of the selling points for the fen chang here is the sambal. It is sweet and spicy with the fragrance of dried shrimps within it.
Overall, the food here is very unique and tasty. There are not many places in Penang that serve clean and healthy supper at night and this is one of the very few of them. At night, there are plenty of parking slots available. The price of the food here is also very reasonable.
