The name Will Western Delight is not new to residents of Gelugor. The first appearance of Will Western Delight was at Lorong Delima 3 which I wrote about that post back in year 2010. During that time, I wasn’t too impressed on the service as it took them very long to serve our food. Since then I had stopped visiting that place. During that period, Will had been moving to a few other places before the recent settle down.
The rediscovery of this place was a coincidence for me as I was driving past this complex and noticed this very familiarly-named cafe. It is not hard to locate this cafe. If you are driving along Jalan Yap Chor Ee, you will surely pass-by a traffic light junction where you can turn right to Jalan Delima. Keep driving forward until you reach the second traffic light on the hill side, turn left at that junction to Jalan Permai and you will see Centrio Avenue is on your left. Will Wester Delight is at the middle of the shop houses.
The crowd that patronized Will Western Delight is no different than last time, which is still as crowded as before. However, we only waited for around 6 minutes for our food to be served on our table, which is a very huge improvement from the previous 30-45 minutes of waiting time.
Chicken Chop with Mushroom Sauce -RM8.80, Battered Chicken Chop was deep fried until golden brown. The crust was crispy and flavourful. The sides included some fries, green peas, carrots, tomato, cucumber and garlic bread.
Even though the chicken was soaked in the sauce, it still remained its crispiness. The mushroom sauce was nice and it tasted like it had been cooked with some white wine. It was then sprinkled with some herbs which made the chicken chop more complete and presentable.
Pork Chop with BBQ sauce – RM10.00, the pork chop was marinated and grilled to perfection. It was then covered with barbecue sauce and sprinkled with herbs. The sides were exactly the same as the above Chicken Chop with Mushroom Sauce.
Although the sauce did not taste like homemade, yet it blended very well with the pork chop. The tenderness of the meat was just nice and not too tough, the meat was juicy as well. Seriously, I would go back for the pork chop again.
Overall, the taste of the food here was good. The waiting time for the food to be served has improved tremendously compared to last time when they were Island Glades. There is ample parking space surrounding this place. Of course, the price of the food here was reasonable too.
