Salty Porridge, Raja Uda – 40 Years of Classic Hokkien’s Flavour

Salty Porridge 咸粥, this is an uncommon dish name. Normally the porridge is either Cantonese’s style or Tiew Chew style. However, this Salty Porridge is not something new to the residents of Butterworth. Salty porridge is a classic type of porridge that has been around since 40 years ago. Ah Chai, the owner of the salty porridge stall at Raja Uda has been taking over this stall from the father and is now 2nd generation. Serving with shark meat slices and pickle radish, this salty porridge is so flavourful and delicious. It is great to have this on a hot day. The braise egg and intestine are also not to be missed as these have been cooked for long hours.
