Looking for a place that serves grills in a nice ambiance and yet affordable? Look no further. Little Joe Grill is the place that you can look for to enjoy real grills with affordable pricing and in a chic and comfortable ambiance.
Located at Batu Ferringhi of Penang Island, it is 15 meters away from the main road of Batu Ferringhi. This is a hidden gem that has yet to be discovered.
This place opens daily for lunch and dinner.
For wine lovers, you will find a good collection of wines to cater for different needs.
Little Joe Grill has a chic and modern interior which feels like a semi fine-dining restaurant.
Pasta with Chunky Tomato Herb Sauce – RM16.00, a classic favourite suitable for everyone in the family. Spaghetti tossed in chunky tomato sauce with herbs and served with a slice of garlic toast.
The pasta was packed with sourish tomato and herbs taste. It was a delightful dish and is suitable for those seeking for non-meat meals.
Caesar Salad – RM12.00, crispy lettuce served with anchovy dressing, herb croutons, beef bacon and Parmesan cheese.
Simple yet appetizing salad with crunchy croutons and generous amount of beef bacon made this a satisfying starter.
Rib Eye Steak – RM34.00, Rib Eye beef with the choice of doneness. Serving together with choice of either black pepper or mushroom sauce, slices of baked potato, corn and some vegetables.
The doneness of the beef steak met my requirement. It was perfectly done in medium rare. The wild mushroom sauce paired really well with the steak too.
Tenderloin Steak – RM36, Tenderloin beef with the choice of doneness, serving together with either black pepper sauce or mushroom sauce, slices of potato, corn, broccoli, zucchini and carrot.
In my opinion, this tenderloin steak was better than the rib eye. I like the tenderness and juiciness of this meat. It was perfectly cut and tasted smooth without any tendons.
Salmon Steak – RM35, grilled salmon slices served with potato slices, corn, broccoli, carrot and zucchini. Serving together with it was homemade brown sauce.
The salmon was grilled until golden perfection, serving with homemade fish sauce with a hint of tanginess which balanced off the richness of the salmon. The only set back was the salmon was slightly small.
Flame Grilled Burger – RM18, choice of beef/ chicken quarter pounder patty on grilled roasted onion bun, fried egg topped with cheddar cheese served with French Fries and coleslaw.
The juiciness of the patty was served together with creamy cheese, busty sunny side up and crunchy vegetables. The combination of all these in a mouthful was satisfying and it tasted good.
Warm Apple Crumble – RM19.99, cooked apple in cinnamon, vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate cream.
You will need to consume the crunchy base, ice cream and also the apples to fully enjoy the apple crumble. It was a perfect sweet ending to our meal.
Slow Boat to Little Joe – RM8, served with 3 flavors of ice cream and topped with fresh cream and chocolate syrup.
This is similar to the classic banana boat ice cream. I personally prefer the topping with nuts instead of cream as a healthier option.
Overall, the ambiance of this place was cozy and the pricing for the food here was affordable. Plenty of carpark spaces could be found nearby the restaurant. The only drawback was the brown sauce served with the main dishes was slightly bland.
