Full Xiang Spicy Hotpot is one of the latest additions to the spicy hotpot scene. For those that love the feeling of spicy (辣)a numb (麻), this is the place that you should visit. The master of Full Xiang hailed from Taiwan who went all the way to Sichuan, China, to learn the skills of preparing spicy hotpot. A few years later, he improvised and came out with his own recipe and making it into one of the most successful hotpot chains in Taiwan.
The exclusive recipe by Full Xiang includes 13 types of Chinese herbs. The ingredients are not too heaty and thus will not cause stomach upset. The base of the hotpot is packed with “damp-heat” (去湿热) medicated effect. Equipped with a unique pan-fry technique of Full Xiang incense pot, it is packed with aroma without bitterness and spicy in hemp. The base is not oily or greasy, neither salty nor too light.
During this Chinese New Year season, Full Xiang Hotpot has launched The Supreme Pot (一品锅). The price for the Supreme pot is – RM238 for 4pax, RM338 for 6pax.
Serving with the pot together were 4 or 6 bowls of chicken mushroom soup, depending on the package.
The taste of the soup was delicious and nutritious.
The Supreme Pot itself contained more than 10 types of luxurious ingredients, including abalone, scallops, prawns, mussels, sea asparagus, fish maw, money style barbecue meat, smoked duck meat, broccoli, cauliflower, and more all in one pot! The pot was prepared in Level 1 spiciness (Note: there are 7 levels of spiciness). If you can’t take spicy, non-spicy version is available too.
There are other side dishes you may order such as Scallion Oil Dry Noodle with the option of Braised Pork Ribs, Braised Pork Belly, Braised Chicken Drumstick or Braised Mushroom, Vegetable and Bean Curd.
Overall, the taste of the Supreme Hotpot was very hot and spicy, although it was only level 1. This is dedicated to those who love Sichuan-style hot and spicy food. The ingredients given were nevertheless fresh and good quality. Currently there are 2 branches in Penang conveniently located in Queensbay Mall and Gurney Plaza.
