Mattia Coppo, a renowned Cocktail Master, has spent over two decades honing his craft as a bartender and mixologist. With an impressive 21 years of experience in the industry, Mattia has become a true expert in the art of cocktail creation.
Throughout his career, Mattia has had the opportunity to work in various locations, including Florida and New York in the United States. Seeking to broaden his knowledge and expertise, he embarked on a six-month journey to London, where he immersed himself in the vibrant mixology scene and gained invaluable experience.
In addition to his mixology skills, Mattia is a certified sommelier, further enhancing his understanding of the intricacies of wine and beverage pairings. His expertise in both cocktails and wines allows him to create unique and harmonious drinking experiences for his patrons.
Aside from his passion for mixology, Mattia’s academic pursuits are equally impressive. He holds a Ph.D. in literature, showcasing his intellectual curiosity and dedication to continuous learning. This combination of creative and scholarly interests adds depth and storytelling to his cocktail creations.
Mattia’s journey to Malaysia was fueled by his fascination with the country’s rich literary traditions. Having studied fictions about Malaysia, he found inspiration to explore the culture and craft of mixology within the Malaysian context. This led him to embark on a visit to Malaysia, where he has traveled from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi and is currently in Penang.
The opportunity to conduct a cocktail workshop at the esteemed E & O Hotel has been arranged by a company, providing an avenue for Mattia to share his knowledge and expertise with local enthusiasts. His visit to Malaysia serves as a testament to his passion for exploring new cultures and incorporating them into his craft.
As his time in Malaysia draws to a close, Mattia will return to his home country of Italy briefly before embarking on future adventures. With a profound appreciation for the diversity and flavors the world has to offer, he looks forward to returning to Malaysia in the near future, ready to continue exploring and creating innovative cocktail experiences.
