Big Ben Breakfast is a place for western breakfast at an affordable price. This place has been around for some time. I have always heard people mention about this place but has not really been to this place before. If you try to Google Big Ben, you will notice Big Ben is the nickname of the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and often the name is extended to refer to the clock and the clock tower. The owner of the stall must be a fan of the Big Ben clock tower in order to name his stall “Big Ben Breakfast”.
It is not hard to locate the Big Ben Breakfast although it is not directly facing the road. If you are driving through Jalan Kebun Bungah heading to the Botanical Gardens, look for the handy craft area on your right. Turn in to that area and you will see Big Ben Breakfast is at the corner of the hawker stalls.
The owner is concentrating on the breakfast preparation.
When you are ready to order, stand at this corner to spell out your requirement.
Breakfast Set “A” – RM5.00, comes with 2 slices of toast slathered with butter, a sunny side-up, sausage and some baked beans.
A very small and petite portion for those who just want to have a light breakfast.
Big Ben Breakfast Set – RM 7.50, comes with 2 slices of toasts, heavily slathered with Butter, a sunny side-up, a halved tomato, a slice of ham, sausage and some baked beans.
This is better portion for those that want to have a filling breakfast. The sausage and ham were very standard. The only thing that I love for this breakfast is the grilled tomato, which was appetizing and juicy.
Half Boiled Egg and Toast – RM4.00, for those who just want to have even lighter breakfast, half boiled egg and toast will cover your need. However, for me I will go for Set “A” if I need a light breakfast as Set “A” is more value for money compared to this ala-carte option.
White Coffee – RM2.70 (hot), it’s a must to have this drink to kick-off my day.
Overall, the preparation of the breakfast here is very standard. They only serve western breakfast. The taste of the food is acceptable and yet slightly on the oily side. The public parking here is sufficient during non-peak season. However, the price of the breakfast in my personal opinion is on the high side.

Ah, an old school western breakfast! Sounds like an interesting find, and looks really cool! 😉 Like the homey style they serve the coffee, in those kind of mugs we use at home…hehe 🙂
