Baa baa black sheep have you any wool… Does this lyric remind you of our childhood nursery rhyme? No doubt this nursery rhyme has already been implanted in our memories since we were little kids. Now after we’ve grown up, we sing this to our kids almost every day too. However, today the focus is not about the song, but it is more about the title of this song that has been used as the name of a cafe.
The main entrance of Baa Baa Black Sheep is at the main road of Jalan Tanjung Bungah. If you are driving from town you will drive through Gurney Drive towards Jalan Tanjung Tokong, keep driving for about 3km and you will be arriving at Jalan Tanjung Bungah. Watch out on your left where you will see a lot of shop lots and one of the notable ones is Sri Ananda Bahwan restaurant. You will find Baa Baa Black Sheep is just a few doors away from it.
The main theme of the cafe is of course sheep. You will find sheep in all sorts of forms and sizes on the wall, counter, tables and windows.
Other than black sheep, there are a lot of white sheep joining the crowd as well.
Some very cute drawings of the sheep: A black sheep uses a parachute to cross over the fence.
Even the cartoon character from Timmy Time can be found as a plush toy sticking on glass window of the cafe.
The paper cups with hand-drawn cartoon characters were displayed at the edge of the windows.
The white sheep family.
The stand alone black sheep.
Even the reservation notice has been made into a sheep figure using card boards.
Salmon & Egg Croissant – RM11.90, the croissant was filled with salmon slices and scrambled egg. It was then topped with some mayonnaise and mixed herbs. Sided with the dish was some mixed salad.
The taste of the salmon was very fresh and the scrambled egg tasted great when they were served hot. The combination of the food was excellent.
Bacon & Egg Waffle – RM11.90, waffle was used as the base and on top of it were bacon and poached eggs. It was then sprinkled with some mustard and mixed herbs. Serving together with it was some mixed salad.
The taste was very unique where it combined the sweetness of the waffle with the saltiness of bacon and mustard. It is a very new and great fusion dish.
Cappuccino – RM8.90, Hot and aromatic cappuccino.
Those that know me well, you will know most of my meal will involve coffee as I can’t live without coffee. The aroma of coffee here was nice and thick.
Cafe Latte – RM9.90, the cafe latte also came with a piggy latte art.
The proportion of the milk and the coffee was just nice. However, the taste of the latte was still not as nice as the cappuccino.
Overall, the food here was good and the ambiance was cosy with a very unique theme. There is sufficient parking space available behind the cafe. However, the drawback here is the price of the food is slightly on the high side.
