Palm means the inner surface of a hand. Palm is also the layman term of the plant Palmae. As for Palm Village Cafe, the name of the palm takes both meaning. As you can see from the banner below which shows a Palm tree over a cup of coffee.
The Chinese character (掌心), which means “Heart of the hand palm” literally is hung on the entrance of the cafe. The concept of this cafe is to serve home-cooked food in a cosy and homely ambience with some lifestyle and scenery paintings.
The easiest way to get to this place is by using Jalan Fettes, (水池路) the winding dam road. Once you reached the end of the winding road you will be at Jalan Lembah Permai. Watch out for your first left turning, that will lead you to Lorong Lembah Permai 3. Drive 30 metres further and you will see a row of shop houses on you right. Palm Village Cafe is just behind these shop houses, which is at Lorong Lembah Permai 4.
30th May 2009 was a big day for Palm Village Cafe as this was their grand opening. I was honoured to be invited by the host for their grand opening. Also special thanks to Criz for the arrangement.
The Grand Opening was performed by Datin Teh Bee Koon and Mr. Choh Kiat Siong, the senior artist who decorated the Palm Village Cafe.
The arrival of Datin Teh Bee Koon who was being ushered with flower brooch.
Red ribbon cutting ceremony symbolised the grand opening of Palm Village Cafe.
At the same time, the lion dance was performed to symbolise a good start ahead.
The Chinese character of (旺) was presented to both owners of Palm Village Cafe.
The ambience of this place is very comfortable and cosy. The food served on the opening day was buffet style prepared by the kitchen of Palm Village Cafe. The food was not served from the menu on that day as another review will be arranged later on.
The crowd were rushing in to savour their food after the grand opening ceremony.

Pictures painted by Mr. Choh Kit Siong are hung all around the cafe.
Post cards and season cards created by Senior Artist were being displayed as well.

home-cooked food….hmmm. It has to have a real distinct flavour and always innovate to enjoy brisk business. Hope to see what their menu will be.
Meaningful name of the restaurant, like it. 🙂
Restaurants hardly sell home-cooked food now, bet this restaurant would be good.
I just got to know that the owners are my hubby’s ex-colleagues. Do you know them too?
Hi there,
Glad I found this website. Jolly good job. Congratulations.
