The pre-war shophouses located at the junction of Lebuh Carnarvan and Lebuh Kimberley at the heart of old Georgetown are typically long and narrow and can be quite dark inside. However the environment at this coffeeshop is light and bright as it is located by the main road and it enjoys direct morning sunlight every morning.
It has been a few times I was introduced to this particular place for instant cooked koay teow thng by Criz but I have never found the chance to visit until recently.
The name of this shop is called “Seng Thor Coffee Shop and Hotel”. The arousing incident about this so called Coffee Shop and Hotel is that I only see food stalls and coffee counter but there is no sign of hotel check-in counter.
The main attraction of this shop is the instant cooked koay teow thng stall which has been operating for decades.
This particular stall is operated by both the husband and wife and you can see that they are always busy preparing the koay teow thng. This shows how good their business is.
The koay teow was cooked with minced meat, pork livers, fish balls and meat balls. The pork liver was not over cooked therefore you could feel the softness and warmth of it.
Another special presentation which you will hardly get from other stalls is the so called “meat ball” was made into meat bowl (pic below). Not only it looked unique but the taste was special too. Not sure why they want to make it in such way, may be is one of their signature items.
The instant cooked koay teow thng per bowl is RM2.50 but the taste of it is priceless.

Ooh I love the look of that special house meatball! And the soup looks “dirty” enough to guarantee this is not hospital-type KTT!
This is indeed the best instant cook koey teow soup in Penang. My face if go there, will get extra “KEH LIAO”. I brought Huat Koay from PTP there once and then he brought his friend there. He get lesser meats and livers.

Little inbox, so far nothing happened to my stomach 🙂
I’ve tried some of the stalls that you introduce and there were nice food. But i have to disagree with you for this koay teow t’ng…. i’ve been eating for few times but still not one of the good 1…
There is another store of duck meat koay teow t’ng in kimberly street, just a short walking distance from this coffee shop which is very nice.
You should’ve tried that…
