There are many nice Italian restaurants available at Georgetown area, but not many choices when it comes to Gelugor and Batu Lanchang area. Recently there is a newly-opened Italian restaurant in Batu Lanchang which is known as Papilicious Olivia’s Pasta & Pizza.
It is not hard to locate this restaurant. If you know “Ayamas” which was previously located at Batu Lanchang, Papilicious Olivia’s Pasta & Pizza is the one replacing Ayamas currently.
The restaurant is not very big but it feels cozy and comfortable inside.
It is recommended that you check out the blackboard over the counter as they will display the promotions and chef’s special.
Hawaiian Chicken Pizza – RM20 Regular, RM28 Large. Made with chicken, ham, pineapples and mozzarella cheese.
It tasted appetizing and slightly sweet with generous amount of cheese to top it off. This is a typical Hawaiian pizza and it is popular among kids.
Grilled Chicken Thigh Burger – RM15.80. Burger served with marinated chicken thigh, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, mixed salad, grilled pineapple and served with BBQ sauce.
The chicken thigh was grilled together with barbecue sauce and topped with grilled cheese and slice of appetizing pineapple. This is also another dish suitable for kids and non-spicy lovers.
Cheesy Spicy Baked Fish – RM16.80. For those who love a kick in their dishes, they can try this Cheesy Spicy Baked Fish. The fish was baked with homemade sweet and spicy sauce and cheese, then served with creamy citrus sauce for a balanced flavor.
Spaghetti Aglio Olio – RM15.80 Vege, RM20.80 Seafood. Spaghetti sauteed with olive oil, chili flakes, olives, broccoli, squids and lots of garlic. There is a choice of either vegetarian or seafood for different tastebad.
To me the simplest dish is the most challenging dish. This is because everyone knows how to cook it and the taste can easily be compared. Therefore, to determine a good cook, I usually will order Aglio Olio. At Papilicious Olivia’s Pasta & Pizza, the aglio olio tasted exciting and spicy. It had the right balance of saltiness, spiciness and garlic taste. I would definitely go back for this again.
Spaghetti Bolognese – RM14.80. An authentic yet simple Italian classic pasta cooked with minced meat for a hearty meal.
The chicken bolognese tasted usual and nothing much to shout about. The sauce was slightly on the sweet side.
Below is be the menu of Papilicious Olivia’s Pasta & Pizza.
Overall, the food here was great and the ambiance was cozy. This place is not located near to any tourist attraction but instead it is near to housing area for locals. Therefore it is very easy to find a parking after peak hour. The only drawback for this restaurant is the price is slightly on the high side.
