A sunny afternoon is a great time for a break, which is coffee time for me. There is a new cafe which has just popped up with a unique concept and appearance. This cafe follows the design from the MV of Jay Chou’s Song (Handwritten Past – 手寫的從前).
The cafe is seated on top of a beautifully landscaped hill at Paya Terubong under the development of Eco World, and is part of their new “Eco Terraces” project. The surrounding is mostly green lawn and landscaped garden with several garden table and chairs for customers to enjoy their cuppa.
At the top of the hill there is a small cafe that looks similar to the coffee hut in the MV of Jay Chou, the name of this cafe is Lawn Cafe.
This small coffee hut is mostly made of glass and it is now one of the latest hangout places in Penang.
There are even outdoor seats just in case the indoor seats are full. Bear in mind that the indoor seating area is not very big and seats are limited.
The operation hour of this cafe is from 10am – 8pm, daily.
One thing great about this place is the servers here are very friendly and warm.
The inner seating area is cosy and homely. The only drawback is the seating area is limited.
There are varies type of coffees available. For those looking for some light food, you may try out their pasta and sandwiches.
The barista counter is compact yet complete.
My cup of Hot Americano – RM7.90, is ready to go.
When the day is cloudy, the outdoor seating area is a great option. If it gets too hot or it rains then it will be a bad choice.
There is also a wishing rope where you write your wish on a pink ribbon and tie it along the rope. It’s a win-win as it makes a beautiful decoration too.
Different type of wish will have different color and division,so make sure you are making the right choice.
Overall, this place is cosy and worth a visit. The crew is very friendly and the price of the coffee and food here is also reasonable. The only drawback is there are not enough seats available inside this cafe, in case it gets too hot or it is raining outside.
