Food and Beverages (F&B) has always been a challenging industry. The trending of certain food is very depending on the crowd and public. Certain lifespan of the food might last for a while, as for some they might not survive for even a few weeks.
Pizza outlets used to be a popular hangout place back at those days. However, these days there are only handful of pizza makers in Penang. US Pizza in Greenlane is one of the few pizza outlets that is still surviving until today (other than Pizza Hut and Domino’s).
US Pizza is not located along the main road or any at places of interest. In order to get there it requires some tricks. If you are driving down from Penang bridge to Georgetown via Jalan Masjid, you will see Shell patrol station on your left. Divert your steering to the small lane in front of Shall station and keep driving until you see a semi auto car wash in front with the name Dragon Wash on your left. Just next to the car wash there is a car park with public access road to Gembira Parade Complex. With Gembira Parade on your left, drive another 50 metres and you will see US Pizza on your left.
I still remember for the past 10 years until now, there will be a Buy 1 Free 1 promotion at US Pizza every Tuesday. It was a bulking day for me during that time.
This humble pizza shop still maintains its previous charm with only a minor uplift which is not obvious at all.
One thing I like about the pizza here is the crust are handmade by experienced staff. Some prefer thick and soft base, while my preference is thin and crispy.
This place is kid-friendly as they provide cute dining set for kids.
Mushroom Soup RM 5.95 – The mushroom soup was cooked with few types of mixed mushrooms thick and creamy.
The soup was garnished with some cheese powder, pepper powder and a leaf of coriander. One thing good about this soup is you can add additional cheese powder or pepper powder as you like.
Cinnamon Twisty Bread RM3.95 – The dough was twisted, baked and then sprinkled with some brown sugar and cinnamon powder. The taste of this cinnamon twisty bread is similar to pretzel. For those having sweet tooth, there is no better way to spoil dinner than this sweet treat.
Crazi Garlic Twist – RM3.95, One of the signatures here. The difference of this garlic twist compared to the previous cinnamon twist is the base is covered with garlic butter, salt and cheese. This is one of my favourites.
Grilled Chicken Salad – RM12.50, the grilled chicken was cut into cubes and served with slices of celery, tomatoes, carrots and capsicums. It was then topped with home mixed salad sauce and added with some black pepper and cheese powder.
The taste of the grilled chicken and the salad dressing were great. The only thing is that the salad lacked of green leafy vegetables. If more lettuces and Roman lettuce were added to this plate it will be a perfect salad dish.
Florida Honey Wings RM13.95 (8pcs) – The chicken wings were marinated with honey and barbecued until golden brown.
The aroma of the barbecue was so nice and the tenderness of the meat was perfect. For those who are not fans of hot and spicy food, this will be a good option.
New York Wings RM12.95 (8pcs) – The chicken wings were marinated with home mixed barbecue sauce. They were then barbecued until golden brown.
The barbecue sauce was nice. For me, I still prefer the Florida Honey flavour as the honey blended very well with the chicken wings.

The Fabulous 4 Pizza is designed for 4 – 6 pax group of diners. All the flavours of the pizza were great, especially the tempura prawn version which is unique on its own.
The cheese from the pizza really made me hungry whenever I look at the photo.

The 6″ Crunchy Pizza is like a personal pan pizza. The flavour that really attracted me is the Penang Flavour and the Tom Yam Chicken Flavour. These 2 flavours are unique and couldn’t get it elsewhere.
Regular Hand Tossed Half and Half Pizza RM25.95 (Regular Hand Tossed Pizza (9″) at RM23.95, Half n Half add on RM2)
The is the hand tossed type of pizza which was really crispy. I love this type of crust compared to others.
US Pizza Lagsana (Chicken) RM19.50 – Combination of (Chicken or Beef) Bolognese Carbonara Sauce & topped with Mozzarella cheese.
For those who are not fans of pizza, you can always order this.
Ocean Carbonara RM17.50 – Combination of Shrimp & Crab Meat with Creamy Carbonara Sauce.
The white sauce was creamy and rich. For those who like to have a filling meal, this is a great option.
Overall, the food here is up to standard. Other than offering the standard pizzas, they have come out with many types of food to attract more customers. There are ample parking space surrounding the shop. The pricing of the food is slightly on the high side, except on US Tuesday. I would still come back for the pizza on Tuesdays.
