It was supposed to be a highly anticipated visit to Naughty Nuri’s Warung which is still quite new in town. However, it turned out to be a huge disappointment.
I had been reading a lot of reviews about this place and how nice was the food. It was even frequented by celebrities back in Bali which made me wanted to feel the excitement more. Somehow, something went wrong where it didn’t turn out to be what I expected.
The location of Naughty Nuri’s is at Burmah Road where the junction next to it is Swatow Lane.
Naughty Nuri’s only operates for dinner.
The place is truly a place to have the best of pork. You can see the interior is decorated with hogs of all sizes.
On the ground floor is a proper dining place with decent tables and chairs.
The ambience is very nice and suitable for those families who have elderly and kids.
On the other hand the environment on the first floor is much more noisier and catered for youngsters. There is even a pool table free of charge, hence the noisy ambience. This area is definitely a big no no for family with elderly and kids. One thing that the reservation department overlooked is they did not confirm with us if we were coming with elderly and kids as most of the elderly are not comfortable with its noisy environment during dining. Another point they overlooked is even if the ground floor is fully booked, they should have warned us that the first floor will be noisy.
Thirdly, take a look at the seating arrangement on the first floor. There is not enough leg space for us at all and kids can be easily injured by the rough corners of the tables.
Ambience aside, let’s take a look at their food.
Naughty Boy Burger – RM19.90. Lollo, tomatoes, homemade pork patty, pork bacon, egg, mango salsa, onion and crispy fries.
Maybe due to the popularity of this place, the food preparation here was totally out. I could not feel their passion in preparing the food. Instead, it was served in a short time. The preparation of the burger patty was in medium rare instead of well done. Common sense will tell us that we should only take fully cooked pork. The burger tasted blend as expected. We made a complaint to the waitress and they promised to cook another one for us. Their second attempt was much better, we could feel the aroma of onions/garlic from the patty.
Pork Chop – RM28.90. Served with romaine lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, shredded carrots and thousand island sauce.
The pork chop had no taste of marination. The only taste that I could feel from the pork chop was the over-burnt smell with carbon scent. I couldn’t eat the pork chop without dipping it with the thousand island sauce. The texture was hard and it looked like a burnt piece of meat. It did look a little bit lonely here, as there were no other side dishes besides the small amount of salad.
Pork ribs – RM38.90. Served with romaine lettuce, cucumber, tomato, shredded carrots and thousand island.
Again, I could feel the carbon scent from the ribs due to its barbeque cooking method. However, it was still acceptable. The taste of the barbecue sauce was delightful with appetizing tendered ribs. At least this food is still up to my satisfaction.
Balinese Pork Sate (5 sticks) – RM12.90, pork cubes barbecued and covered with homemade sauce and a piece of pineapple.
The combination of the fat and lean meat was not evenly distributed for each stick. I had tasted a stick with 100% of fat meat and another with 100% of hard lean meat.
From left, Watermelon Juice – RM7, regular fresh watermelon juice with some rough bits of fibre.
Orange juice – RM7, taste regular.
Avocado – RM17, the avocado drink was not smooth at all. The first drink we had, we could taste bits of rough grains in it. We requested to change and the second glass was slightly better, but still we could feel the rough bits of fibre in the drink which wasn’t pleasant at all. I’ve tasted a better and cheaper version of avocado drink elsewhere.
The barbecue area at the front of the restaurant.
Overall, the place is overrated and the preparation of the food is something which needs to be improved. It is a very big disappointment for me to visit this restaurant. I really hope the management of this restaurant would consider the points that I have mentioned for improvement, else this restaurant will not have repeated customers anymore.

woah, finally some honest opinion about the food. Bravo. Some one actually share the same view as you.
Hi Peter, I had paid with credit card
The food seemed to be overcooked but actually it was “cold” inside..I needed to request them to cook again..
