I believe most of you had seen elephants dancing and pigs doing math calculation in Thailand. However, most of you would not have seen a tiger which can fry Koay Teow in Penang, Malaysia.
The location you can get to see the tiger which can fry Char Koay Teow is located at Lebuh Carnarvon. If you are driving down to Lebuh Carnarvon and Prangin Mall is at your back, you need to make a U turn at Jalan Kampung Kolam. Keep driving until you see Lorong Carnarvon on your left where Ping Hooi Coffee Shop is just around the corner.
For those who wanted to watch the tiger show, you need to be seated and wait for it patiently. As there is only one tiger but many customers.
Normal Char Koay Teow – RM4.00, Char Koay Teow with duck egg – RM4.50.
Mr. Tiger, as seen on the picture above, is always busy at work.
This was my plate of Char Koay Teow, which was non-spicy with duck egg, and added with chives, bean sprouts, shrimps and cockles.
For those who don’t favour spicy food, this is the selection that you might want to consider. The koay teow was filled with pan-frying aroma and the size of the shrimps were big. The amount of seafood in the char koay teow was also generous.
For spicy lovers, you can always try the fried koay teow with chili. The taste and scent were the same as the non-spicy version. The only difference was it had added the excitement and exhilaration of chili.
Overall, Tiger Fried Koay Teow is one of the best char koay teow in Penang. I personally love the taste and the aroma of the fried koay teow. There is an abundance of parking across the road. The only drawback is that you will mostly experiencing long wait during lunch hour or weekend as the business of Tiger is very good.
