75 Celcius, Gurney Drive – Cool Down and Chill Out

(Latest Update: This place had been close down due to some business issue.)

“It’s getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes”. If you are feeling hot one of the ways to reduce your body heat is to take off your clothes as sang by Nelly. However, taking off clothes in public is strictly prohibited by Malaysian Law. Unless you want to over night in ISA or MACC building. Another better and more appropriate way to do so is to visit the below pub and restaurant with the name of 75 Celsius at Gurney Drive. Thanks to Ken for the arrangement 0f the exclusive review.

75 Celsius is located at the center of the town area, it is a place to cool off after a long walk under the hot sun at Gurney Drive. The drinks vary from alcoholic to non-alcoholic on a list of 50 over choices.

Relaxing at the green and eco-friendly surrounding with some light and easy music instantly lets you get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

75 Celsius is not only a perfect place for drinking but it is also a restaurant. Frankly, I love the drinks here more than the food due to the abundance of choices and the uniqueness of the drinks.

Drinks:

Michael Jackson – RM10, the Legendary King of Pop. The taste of the drink is the same as the name, “It’s Black, It’s White, It’s Tough For You… Yeah!” The mixture of the drink are by Tia Maria, Malibu and Cointreau liquor, although the name is smooth it is definitely not for the weak drinker.

Ice Espresso – RM7, nice… with thick foam on top but don’t mistaken it for Guiness Stout.

Ice Mocha – RM7.50, you can find some decent beverages like milkshake. I prefer mocha more than Ice Express, may be because I am a susu (milk) lover.

Philadelphia, 3 mixture topped up with soda – RM7.50. Since when US state has become a drink? Where is Taxes? Yeehaa!!!

Screw Driver – RM13, it is a common cocktail for ladies with a mixture of vodka and orange juice. For those who always get screwed by your boss and want to find some where to release it, this is the drink that you can order. But make sure you cut your boss’ photo and burn them into ashes to mix into the drink and drink it. I am just joking.

Dawn Of The Beauty – 75C Top Drinks – RM7, both the name and color are fancy. Not only its name and looks are nice but the taste is also sour-ly exiting as well.

Wild Fruit Blended – RM7.00, it’s a very smooth and mild cocktail that is not wild at all. Great for the mild drinkers.

Tequila Sunrise RM13, this drink itself contains 2 shots of tequila. Even the name is sunrise you will sure be down before noon after 5 glasses.

Lemon Temptation – RM7, simple yet sloppy combination, the mixture contains lime and Sprite only. I love this refreshment.

Lemon Drop – RM10, mixture of vodka, lemon and sugar. I nearly dropped off after a sip. It is a very powerful cocktail. For those who never dropped off on alcoholic drinks. I dare you to try this out.

There are also other non-alcohol dairy drinks like Baileys – Espresso with Baileys – RM8,Vanila Milk Shake – RM8, Strawberry Milk Shake – RM8.

Hot Cappuccino & Hazel Nut Cappuccino (RM5-00) is an excellent compliment hot drink after a heavy meal.

All the foodies were busy taking pictures.

Starters and Soups:

Calamari Tempura (RM8.50), to be exact and local, this is sotong ring (squid rings). Hot and crunchy on the outside while soft and chewy in the inside. Delicious!

Tempura Prawn (RM9.90), in Malay it’s called cucuk udang but this is a high-class one. The prawns were fresh and nice.

Fish Cocktail  (RM8.50), although it is a cocktail I never fell off after many pieces. It’s a non alcaholic dish. In fact, it tasted great and delightful.

Chef’s Salad – RM11.90, colorful classical salad.

Cheezy Garlic Bread RM6.90, garlic bread topped with melted cheese. Great for cheese lovers.

Mushroom Bruschetta (RM7.90), one of my favourites. I find this dish more appetising than Lamb Bruschetta.

Lamb Bruschetta (RM8.90), nice one but I personally feel that it’s too rich and more over I am not a lamb lover.

Creamy Tomato & Bacon (RM6.90) Sauteed Crispy Beef Bacon mixed into tomato soup served with garlic bread. Kinda appetising but still unable to beat my love of mushroom brushetta.

Oxtail Soup (RM8.50) Roasted oxtail served with spring onions and fried shallots. A very “powerful” dish. For those that want to work out more on human reproduction, this is the dish to be considered.

Crispy Chicken Salad (RM12.90) Deep fried chicken in mixed garden greens served with oriental dressing.

Pasta Aglio Olio – (RM15.90) Sauteed garlic, mixed herbs, prawns and chili flakes with olive oil.

Spaghetti Ala Carbonara – (RM10.90) Sauteed beef bacon and capsicums in cream sauce.

Tuna Supreme – RM12.90 Toasted butter croissant with tuna and filament mayo, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and fries

Ribeye Steak – RM17.90 Served with fries, mixed lettuce and pepper mushroom sauce.

Turkey Fresco – RM12.90 Toasted Butter Croissant stuffed with smoked turkey slices, lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes, accompanied by fries

Hamburger Delight – RM16.90 Grilled juicy beef burger served with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, cheese and fries.

Lemon Butter Fish – RM12.90 served with lemon cream sauce.

Pasta ala marinara – RM16.90 Thai-style tomato sauce add into mixed seafood served with spaghetti.

Roasted Chicken Drumstick – RM15.90 Served with rosemary potatoes, mixed lettuce and orange ginger sauce.

Cheesy Beef Roll – RM15.90. The meat is baked with cheese and is stuffed into the thick bread. The meat was juicy and tender.

Black Pepper Mushroom Chicken – RM10.90 Grilled chicken leg covered in black pepper sauce that served with french fries.

Spicy Lamb Leg – RM18.90 served with rosemary potatoes, mixed lettuce and pineapple JD sauce.

Chicken Chop – RM10.90 served with French fries, lettuce, and oriental sauce.

Lamb Cutlet RM22.90 Serve with mashed potato, ratatouille, mixed lettuce and mint yoghurt sauce.

Ribeye Steak – RM17.90 Served with sauteed potatoes, mixed lettuce and pepper mushroom sauce.

Baked Cheesy Seafood – RM16.90 Small shell pasta served with mixed seafood and creamy tomato sauce

Teriyaki Chicken RM15.90 Served with sauteed potatoes, mixed lettuce and teriyaki cream sauce.

Tagarashi Salmon RM17.90 Grilled salmon fillet served in curry cream sauce alongwith mixed lettuce and  mashed potato topped with ratatouille. This is one of my favourites because I am a fan of salmon and the sauce really blended well with the salmon.

Overall, the dishes served here are acceptable. However the price is slightly higher than average. Again, with such ambiance and location it’s worth the price.

  1. Looks like a trendy place.I’m sure that for cocktail lovers there is an abundance on offer. As for myself, I’m into French dry white wine, Gin & Tonic, Chinese teas and Italian ristretto black coffee, no milk nor sugar.
The food pictures though did not really convince me. I don’t like those mayonaises and cocktail sauces all over the food. I’ve seen it before in Penang, so it’s a local custom, perhaps? I prefer sauces in a little dish aside. It allows you to use more, less or no dressing at all.
BTW, are the sauces home made or …?
    Cheers,
    JP
