Tg. Bungah – Sri Ananda Bahwah Indian Food

The review of today is delicious Indian food. I was requested by some of the readers on reviewing Indian food instead. Therefore, today’s introduction is Sri Ananda Bahwan Multi Cuisine Garden Restaurant. Indian food is as good and as famous as our Chinese Char Koay Teow (My next review will be this, for someone who knows of any nice Char Koay Teow besides the Sisters and Ah Leng’s please do leave me comments as I will venture there.)

Back to the topic, Sri Ananda Bahwan is located at Tg. Bungah just opposite the Sandy Bay Paradise Hotel. Wikimapia GPS as guideline:

The main attraction here is mainly due to its excellent service provided. The manager and supervisor had several times heat check on us on their food and service before and after our meal.

There are 2 entrances to the restaurant. One is facing the main road @ Jalan Tanjung Bungah and another at the back along Jalan Oldham. Check out the back door, there is an Indian-costumed guard who stands there always and ready to greet you. Cool huh…

The picture taken below is the front door entrance. Nothing much compared to the back door.

The seatings are set in contemporary small attap huts made of dried leaves and wood with high-quality wooden table and benches. The whole area is beautifully landscaped in a contemporary garden style with pebbles laid neatly on the floor. The concept is “dining in garden” as it is outdoor dining but with lots of cooling fans, and surprisingly you don’t feel any mosquito bites!

I ordered a set of Banana Leaf with Nasi Beriani.  Check out the portion of rice that I have taken, I had to run 20 laps after that meal.

Having Banana Leaf set is better than having roti canai or murtabak. The reason behind is their curry and dalca are cooked with cow’s milk instead of coconut milk. Furthermore, the dishes provided are all vegetarian. For ladies who want to keep fit, this is a good option.

Well, of course for a guy a banana leaf set alone to is not enough. Therefore, I have ordered a Butter Chicken Masala (Guys, is not Masalah in Malay. There are many people thought so when I speak out the name.) The taste of this dish is so marvelous, it is a spicy BBQ chicken cooked in Masala sauce and finally added with some butter to make the smell even better. Once you have tasted it I’m sure you will like it.

Finally, a cup of Indian yogurt, Lassi is a perfect combination with banana leaf. It will cool you down after your hot and spicy meal. As according to Nat Geo – Mad Labs milk can cure spiciness and cool down faster compared to cold soft drink or warm water.

Overall, I like the fast and exellent service here. The food is not very spicy and just suits my tastebud and also most importantly, it tastes good.
